Jill Fuller Antigua
I am fortunate in having been able to work in a wide variety of settings with people from many different cultures and walks of life. Besides a four year post graduate training in Psychodynamic Counselling, I was trained by (and worked with) the 'Samaritans', an international organisation providing confidential emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which may lead to suicide. Recently I have undertaken training in EMDR. I have worked as a volunteer school counsellor in Antigua and draw on my yoga background in assisting clients to become more aware of the factors affecting them in the 'here and now'. Having run a private practice in Antigua for many years, I now work at The University Counseling Centre at The American University of Antigua, addressing a variety of issues including addictions; obsessive compulsive disorders; phobias; post-traumatic stress; personality disorders; depression; anxiety and relationship difficulties. Private patients are seen only by arrangement using the HIPPA compliant telemental health platform Doxy.me. At present all sessions are virtual. This is the link to my waiting room: https://doxy.me/jillfuller. Sessions typically last for 50 minutes though the initial assessment session may be somewhat longer.
I abide by the Ethical framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy as laid down by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. In Antigua, I am insurance approved by Sagicor.
Counselling is completely confidential (there is no reporting back to family, employers, teachers or friends). It is also 'open-ended', in that it is up to you how many sessions you have, and how often. The initial arrangements can be re-negotiated at any time.
Counselling is an opportunity to 'pour your heart out' in a totally safe environment to someone who is not involved in your life and who will listen to you, without judgement, no matter what has happened in the past, or is happening now, that is causing you distress.
Most people, at some time in their lives, need help in clarifying problems, focusing and prioritising. For some people, the service can be a spur to dealing with their issues more comprehensively in order to move forward without the baggage of the past. Some people feel better, simply for having 'got it off their chest'. Whatever the issue, counselling can help you find your way to a happier and more fulfilled life.
